Rx62 DSM2/DSMX 16V 5 Channel Receiver with Bi-Directional ESC and Integrated Reed Switch
Rx62 is a 5 channel (1 x ESC, 4 x P) DSM2/DSMX compatible micro receiver with a built-in reed e-switch. A suitable magnet is available separately.
The reed switch, or other external switch connected across the switch pads on the receiver board, can be used to switch the receiver on and off. A brief activation, e.g. by swiping a magnet across the reed switch, will turn the receiver on. Switching off can be achieved using the reed switch or the transmitter bind button:
- activate the reed switch for > 2 seconds, the receiver will switch off 2 seconds after the magnet is removed, or
- hold down the transmitter bind button (ch 5) for > 5 seconds
The receiver draws practically no current when switched off so it is possible to leave the battery connected between operations. We do recommend that the battery is disconnected if another operating session is not planned within a couple of days.
The receiver is available as a bare board with 2.54mm pad space for ease of soldering and with lead-out wires for battery and motor. Please contact us if you need wiring for other receiver outputs - e.g. servo/switch channels.
|Size:||22.5 x 11.5 x 4 mm|
|Voltage Range:||3V - 13V|
| wiring adds 0.5gm ~ 1gm to the bare board weight |
Rx6x Receiver Features
The Rx62 receiver is available in 4 variants to suit the model usage and type of transmitter. All functions are programmable, these variants are selected function configurations:
|Usage:||train with joystick Tx||train with Tx20/Tx21||train with Tx22/Tx24||cars/boats with Tx24|
|Motor:||low off(ch1)||centre off(ch1)||centre off(ch1)||centre off(ch1)|
All versions of the Rx62 are the same hardware, the only difference is the program settings. The Rx62 settings can be changed in the usual fashion via waggling the sticks of a standard Tx or the PROG3 / PROG4 programmer may be used. A guide to setup using a standard Tx is available here.
The 'Direction' feature in the table above indicates whether the receiver ESC uses the throttle (chan 1) as a centre-off or full-range control. Centre-off is the default setting for most variants. When configured for full-range (by programming), a seperate channel is used to set the ESC direction - this is channel 3 for the Tx2x railway controllers.
Receiver Variation, Antenna, Connector and Daughter Board Options:
throttle control method applies only to -2 and -22 variants
if 'soldered to board' is selected, the reed switch will be located as shown in the Rx62 image

If you want to place the reed switch on the loco body some distance from the receiver, select 'supplied loose' or 'supplied loose with wires' from the 'Reed Switch' options above.
Other wiring options are available (e.g. lead-out wires for the 'P' channels) - please enquire sending details of how you wish to use Rx62.
